Dear Taylor Swift, I decided to sing your song “I Knew You Were Trouble” but I changed it around a lot, and I hope that’s ok. If you want to write an angry song about me in response, you’re more than welcome to (but then I’ll probably cover that, too).
I got to hang out with the INCREDIBLE Sarah Golden (you might recognize her from season 2 of the Voice), and we sang one of our favorite songs, “Falling” by the Civil Wars. And she let me play her guitar!
Tricia Fox joined me in the studio to do a live video of my song “Origami. And if you don’t already have it, the song is on my recent “Origami EP” and is free to download! Download Origami EP!
In honor of Justin Timberlake’s announcement that he’s releasing a new album (which is awesome!), I made a cover of the first song that really brought Justin into the spotlight, “Tearin’ Up My Heart.” Enjoy!
As a thank you for getting the video for “Your Love Carries On” to 1,000 views, here’s a quick cover from one of my favorite songwriters, Elton John (and Mr. Bernie Taupin)
I’m super excited to be joining AJ Rafael for the Texas dates on his play.live.breathe tour! AJ’s an incredibly talented singer/songwriter who just released his outstanding debut album, Red Roses. Tickets are already on sale, so don’t wait too long to buy them!
I’ve finished the music video for “Your Love Carries On,” the 2nd song off my new EP, Origami! The song and the video are a tribute to the late Marilyn Monroe (June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962). Even though she passed away 50 years ago, I’m absolutely blown away by how many people she continues to inspire and impact through her legacy. Hope you like it!
Make sure you download the whole Origami EP (it’s free!)
I just got the final mixes of the songs for the new EP! This means only a few more days until the release of my newest EP, “Origami!” And the end of July will also see the release of a brand new music video for my song “Your Love Carries On.” JULY IS GONNA BE GREAT!
I’ve been missing Minnesota quite a bit lately, so one weekend I decided to learn one of my favorite songs by Minnesota singer/songwriter Jeremy Messersmith (when I really should have been finishing up the new EP…). And since at the end of the day I just love pop music, I decided to add a bridge to the song and throw in a little Justin Bieber. And while Justin Bieber’s not from Minnesota, he’s from Canada which is still close to Minnesota.
Actually, besides singing for kids in the Children’s Hospital, this is the first time I’ve ever sung a Justin Bieber song. I wonder if Jeremy Messersmith has ever sung Justin Bieber? Probably not…
