New Video “Cranes”

I’m so excited to release my first video of the new year! I’m getting close to finishing my upcoming album, and I wanted to share one of the new songs! This video is a live acoustic rendition of “Cranes,” (featuring Jess Zoller on drums, Daniel Kopp on cello, and many many many origami cranes). Hope you enjoy!

Music Video For “O Holy Night” With Music Doing Good

Happy holidays! I was asked to join Rodney Waters, Aisha Ussery, and Kenneth Gayle for Music Doing Good‘s annual holiday song this year. We made a new arrangement of “O Holy Night,” and you can watch the music video here. The video includes behind the scenes photos of our time in the studio as well as photographs of the students Music Doing Good works with in their outreach programs.

Download the song for free here.

Have a wonderful holiday season!

Don Vaughn’s Album Release Party For “The Don Vaughn Experiment”

Last night Don Vaughn held his album release party for “The Don Vaughn Experiment.” Guests were treated to a surprise performance of two of the three songs I wrote and sang for his album, “Ghost of Our Good Love,” and “Shadows and Light.” It was great to finally perform these songs after spending so much time crafting them in the studio. Ordering information for the CD will be online soon.

Recording Update

With the track list (almost) narrowed down, we’ve been hard at work on recording! I’ve already done most of my guitar tracks and we’re almost done recording cellos. More updates to come!

On The Horizon…

After months of prep work, I’m finally starting work on my next album! These post it notes each have the title of a song I’m considering for the album, and I keep rearranging them and finding a list I like only to completely change it 10 minutes later…but the important part is that A NEW ALBUM IS ON THE WAY!

“All Of Me” Video (ALMOST A Cappella)

My favorite part of this song has always been the harmonies John Legend sings with himself, and it got me thinking about doing an entirely a cappella version that built off that idea but was completely different from the original.

Video filmed by Bhavin at UserOfReality Photography. You can see more of his work here: www.facebook.com/userofrealityart

Special thanks to Philip Hall, Aisha Ussery, Bhavin Misra, Coffee Guzman, Katie Richey, and my parents for letting me run ideas by them and show them drafts before the song was complete.

“Say Something” Video

I’ve been a huge fan of A Great Big World’s song “Say Something,” and I got Sarah Golden and Tricia Fox to help me make a cover of it. Somehow we managed to make the song sound even sadder than the original, but sadness not withstanding, I’m really happy with how it turned out! Enjoy!
